IOSH Managing Safely

Created and quality assured by IOSH this leading training scheme introduces managers to the numerous aspects of managing health and safety in the workplace. It provides a relevant and deep understanding of the various issues within managers’ responsibilities and explores the reasons why good health and safety practices are essential for success.

Completion of the managing safely certificate training course gives you a significant insight into the risk assessment skills required for management and supervisor positions.
The course is designed to provide the knowledge and tools for you to use to make health and safety an integral part of day-to-day business, by providing information on important aspects of health and safety such as identifying hazards in the workplace.
As you study for your internationally recognised IOSH approved qualification, you will understand practical risk assessment and the practical actions required to ensure health and wellbeing in the workplace.
The course is split into 7 modules taught over 3 days:
Module 1 – Introducing managing safely
Module 2 – Assessing risks
Module 3 – Controlling risks
Module 4 – Understanding your responsibilities
Module 5 – Understanding hazards
Module 6 – Investigating incidents
Module 7 – Measuring performance
There are two assessments for this qualification:
1. Multiple choice question paper
2. Risk assessment project
An IOSH ‘Managing safely’ certificate is awarded to all those who successfully complete both assessments.
