NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Process Safety Management

This 4-day course combines the HSE’s technical expertise with NEBOSH’s ability to develop globally-recognised health and safety qualifications.

Throughout the course learners will develop the key skills needed to assess risks and hazards, protect against fire and effectively lead process management while considering health and safety.

On completion of the qualification, learners will have a good understanding of:

• Process safety management system establishment
• Asset management and maintenance strategies
• Safe start-up and shutdown of process plant
• Performance standards for safety critical systems and equipment
• Hazards and controls for chemical reactions, storage of dangerous substances, fire and explosion
• Purpose and features of emergency plans

Upon completion of this Process Safety Management course, learners will have the skills to assist their organisation to understand the difference between “process safety” and “personal safety”.

The NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Process Safety Management is a one-unit qualification entitled ‘Unit PSM1: Process safety management’

This course is divided in to four elements designed to enable learners to contribute to the management of process safety risks.

• Element 2: Management of process risk
• Element 3: Process safety hazard control
• Element 4: Fire protection and emergency response

To gain this qualification, learners must achieve a minimum of 60% in an online multiple-choice assessment that takes place following completion of the course. It will be held on the next available date set by NEBOSH, within four weeks of the end of the course.
