ECITB have removed 3-month grace period
- ECITB, the awarding body behind the CCNSG Safety Passport cards have removed the 3-month grace period to refresh your card after the expiry date.
- This came into affect on the 1st of April 2022.
- If your card reaches the expiry date listed on it, you will need to take a full 2-day course.
Looking for the full course? Card already expired? Visit our CCNSG Safety Passport webpage
CCSNG Safety Passport cards are valid for 3 years from the date of your course and you are required by ECITB to attend a renewal course before your card expires. Successfully completing a renewal course will update your card for a further 3 years.
Why renew your card?
A valid CCNSG Safety Passport card is often a requirement for working on many sites in the construction and engineering sectors including power generation and petrochemical sites. This is because refreshing yourself on the key information is a great way to update your knowledge and help you to be safe and work safely on site.
Any organisation that uses the CCSNG Safety Passport scheme will not let you on site with an expired safety passport card.
You don’t have to be close to the maximum 3 years to attend this course, and some of those that attend our course do so 2 years after each course to make sure that they’re still fully up to date on their health and safety knowledge.
Why take this renewal course?
In just one day of training, you can update your course for a further 3 years.
This 1-day classroom course is delivered at our Stourbridge venue by one of our expert health and safety trainers. It covers any updates to relevant legislation, good health and safety practice and provides a refresher on the key areas that you will have covered in your previous course.
After this renewal course you will understand:
- The impact of an accident
- The importance of safe behaviour
- Legal framework
- Point of Work Risk Assessment
- Permit to Work
- Good practice
Assessment
This course is assessed with two multiple choice question papers. One in the morning and one in the afternoon. They are designed to assess what you have learned throughout the day.
Once you have successfully completed the course you will be provided with a temporary passport (valid for 6 weeks), and a new full 3-year Safety Passport card will be issued directly by ECITB to your address. This typically takes around 3 weeks.
