The NEBOSH Standard is the gold standard. All NEBOSH training providers are regularly audited, monitored for quality control and rated in standards: Bronze, Silver and Gold.

Quality control doesn’t just stop with the training providers. NEBOSH regularly look at their qualifications and update them to ensure that content is up to the expectations of the industry and individuals. Recently, that has meant moving towards an Open Book Examination format for NEBOSH exams, which has come at a perfect time with the coronavirus pandemic shutting down many in-person training options.
The content of qualifications
NEBOSH qualifications are specifically designed to provide learners with the knowledge and skills that they need in order to understand how to effectively manage risks related to that topic. There are qualifications for the general management of health and safety, fire safety, construction safety, environmental management and more!
Many health and safety professionals turn to the NEBOSH General Certificate to develop their understanding of health and safety and risk management, because it contains all of the information that you will need for any low to medium risk organisation.
Each of the qualifications that NEBOSH offer has been created by, and in collaboration with, experts in health and safety and teaching, and they focus on proactive risk management and best practice.
Training to a standard
Training all of your staff to a set or specified standard means that everyone will have the same level of knowledge to base decisions off. If you were to opt for one of our in-house training courses, you can train multiple members of staff with the same course, this helps to ensure that they’re all working from the same playbook, and have the same tools to meet expectations.
Using a qualification like NEBOSH as a standard requirement for health and safety managers can be an effective way to ensure high competency, and to ensure that teams work and create in the same way.
Certificate Verification
Once your staff are trained, they will receive a certificate for their training. This certificate can be easily verified online with NEBOSH’s verification platform. This means that it is easy for you to provide details of your staff’s qualification, and have them verified where this may be required, such as for confirming staff competency to undertake certain types of work.
Open book exams
NEBOSH recently redeveloped their syllabi to include open book examination formats. These new exams provide an accessible and challenging exam format that has allowed us to keep providing excellent NEBOSH training programmes to learners across the world throughout the pandemic.
Open book exams make it easier than ever to train multiple members of staff with the same qualification because staff can access their examination online as opposed to having to travel to an examination venue.
One day courses
There are multiple one-day NEBOSH training courses available that are perfect for developing your staff. One-day NEBOSH courses are created by NEBOSH (and often in collaboration with the HSE), and they focus on one specific subject.
They’re great for tackling areas of weakness in your organisation, and provide a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills or continue professional development.
