Why A Virtual Learning NEBOSH Course Might Be Right For You

Nebosh By Matthew Coombes

Throughout the pandemic we have been offering many of our range of NEBOSH health and safety training courses online as live virtual classroom courses taught over video conferencing software. This has allowed us to keep providing essential health and safety training at a time when managing risks and reacting to change is crucial.
So why might a virtual training course be right for you?

No travel

Virtual training courses are convenient – there’s no travel required, and you won’t need to book a hotel, saving you not only time, but money too. You can attend from anywhere with a suitably quiet environment and a stable internet connection. We’ve had people across the UK join us from their own homes and workplaces, and even a few learners connecting from overseas.

Most of our certificate level courses are broken up into several study periods. This ensures that there are appropriate breaks between the course content to allow you to take a break and complete some self-study.

Learning materials are included

All of our virtual certificate courses include the relevant workbooks and study books that you will need to complete the course. We co-author study books for all of our certificate courses in partnership with RMS Publishing, and they are an invaluable accompaniment to any person undertaking a certificate course. Our study books are full of essential health and safety information, diagrams, images and case studies that help to develop your understanding of the topics covered during teaching. The books are also a great reference material for after you have completed your training.

Expert tutors

Our virtual courses are all lead by expert tutors with years of experience in the field as well as in teaching NEBOSH courses. Whether you’re taking a NEBOSH General, Fire, Construction or Environmental certificate, tutors are available to provide support and answer any questions about the syllabus or assessment criteria.

Our tutors lean on their wealth of experience to provide real world examples that help to make even complex topics more relatable to the real world, and to bring the course to life. Our virtual courses all include time for discussions, exercises and activities that allow you to develop your understanding through interaction with your peers and tutor.

Online Certificate Assessments

This means that virtual training makes it possible for you to complete a course like the NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety almost completely remotely.

Examinations are completed online using an open book format; this allows you to research, refer to course notes and develop your answer to the questions and scenario, then check your work before submitting it. The open book format is by no means easy, and still provides a suitably challenging exam that will require plenty of revision to complete, however you don’t have the added stress of needing to travel to an examination venue, or complete a hand written examination paper.

The only part of the NEBOSH General, Fire and Environmental courses that you are required to complete in person is your work-place based risk assessment. This risk assessment is completed using a template provided by NEBOSH and is a good opportunity to practically apply your knowledge to your own workplace, and evaluate the risks in your workplace using a template created by the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH).
