ACT Receives NEBOSH Accreditation for Environmental Award

Environmental issues in the workplace have become extremely important to organisations in all industries. On a daily basis, organisations have to plan for and deal with a large variety of environmental issues. These issues include noise, pollution, waste and dealing with emergency situations.

The UK Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs estimates that 2% of annual UK business profits are potentially lost through inefficient use of resources. This is equal to around £23bn per year. Often, making simple changes to improve sustainability could not only help to save the environment but also dramatically improve a business’s profitability and reputation.

ACT has a long history providing environmental courses and consultancy services. This year, ACT has a new environmental course to add to its range which already includes the NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate and the iAS Internal Environmental Auditor qualification.

Prestigious awarding body NEBOSH has granted accreditation to ACT to run the NEBOSH Award in Environmental Awareness at Work. This is an introductory qualification for those who need to be aware of environmental principles for their job role. The qualification covers the vital issues that affect the global environment including: air pollution, noise pollution, dealing with environmental emergencies, environmental impact assessments and environmental management systems.
