Risk Assessments

The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 place a duty on employers to carry out risk assessments.

You can study by attending a classroom course, involving face-to-face teaching which can be organised as an in-house course in your premises if you have a number of delegates who require training.

Please contact us for further information on how this course might meet your needs.

Designed for

Anyone nominated to carry out general workplace risk assessments, in accordance with the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations.  This is likely to include health and safety professionals, managers and employee representatives.

Outline

The course is intended to develop an understanding of risk assessment techniques and to show how they may be applied to the general workplace environment to evolve systematic structured assessment to fulfil their statutory duties. The course is designed to be high in delegate participation. Exercises will be used to develop awareness and the importance of management controls and monitoring.

Risk Assessment is a major requirement and whilst the course is not intended to meet specific industry requirements such as COMAH Regulations; where specialist training is required to control the risk of major hazards to the public, it will form a sound basis for the future understanding of this important topic. This course is intended to be an introduction to the basic principles of risk evaluation. Practical exercises are used intensively to develop understanding and skill.
