Fire Responsible Persons

Designed for

Employers or those holding management and supervisory positions who wish to gain knowledge of the new Regulatory Reform Order (2005), the requirements of the Responsible Person and an awareness of fire risks in the workplace. It would also be a benefit to new entrants to a company as part of their induction. 

Outline

This interactive course will take you through the practical application of the Fire Safety Order within your business and how to implement it; also the requirements of the Responsible Person and an awareness of fire risks in the workplace.

The ‘responsible person’ must:

  • Carry out and regularly review a fire risk assessment
  • Tell staff and/or their representatives about the risks you’ve identified
  • Put in place, and maintain, adequate and appropriate fire safety measures
  • Plan for an emergency
  • Provide staff information, fire safety instruction and training

Aims and Objectives

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

  • Understand who is the Responsible Person
  • Understand responsibilities imposed
  • Appreciation of the enforcement actions possible and the implications of each
  • Understand the burden of proof and evidence needed to prevent enforcement actions being taken
