Blended Learning

Courses

ACT has an established reputation for the provision of health, safety and environmental training and have experience of developing and delivering classroom and elearning training. We have taken this experience and offer an innovative approach to learning in the form of blended learning, which comprises a blend of classroom based learning and elearning.

Blended learning provides the flexibility of e-learning with the interaction and guidance provided by a classroom based taught course.  This approach would particularly suit those that want to reduce the amount of time away from work attending a classroom course but retain important face-to-face contact with a tutor.

As with elearning we will agree a learning plan that will complete your study and take you to a prearranged assessment date.  Where relevant, students can also access the optional revision and examination tutorials before taking their examination at one of the many examination centres throughout the UK.  In some cases the elearning component of the course enables the assessment to be conducted online.

We have a distinct range of courses available on as blended learning, including courses accredited by NEBOSH, IOSH and iAS.

For example the NEBOSH National General Certificate is available as a blended learning course and involves a one week study period in a classroom and the remainder of the study time is done online.   This enables you to take a large part of the course in the classroom, which can be either before or after the online element of study has been conducted.

The combination of study methods means that blended learning is particularly popular with corporate led initiative.  It is also very attractive to individuals who are time conscious but welcome some tutor lead classroom study to enable them to have the right personal depth of learning.
